Viennese Waltz is the classic, original form of the Waltz. It is danced to music that has a fast tempo of about 180 beats per minute, twice as many beats per minute than Waltz music. The Viennese Waltz was the first ballroom dance performed in a closed hold. It is a rotary dance where the dancers are constantly turning either toward their right or toward their left, interspersed with change steps to switch the direction of rotation.
