Samba

Samba is a lively, rhythmical dance of Brazilian origin.  It is performed solo as a street dance at carnivals in Rio de Janiero.  Latin-American ballroom Samba, performed as a partner dance, differs significantly from the Brazilian samba.  Most ballroom Samba steps are danced with a bouncing action that is created through the bending and straightening of the knees plus sexy hip motions.  Samba is danced to music with layers of rhythm which makes the dance more complex and challenging; the better the dancers are, the more rhythms they can show in their routines.
