Bachata

Bachata is a sensual Latin dance style that originated in the Dominican Republic.  It can be danced in two-hand hold (party style), open embrace (social style), and close embrace (nightclub style).  The basic moves of the Bachata are made up of three-steps with Cuban hip motion, followed by a tap on the 4th beat which is usually accompanied by a “pop” of the hips.  Keeping the knees flexed would make it easier to sway the hips.  Generally, most of the dancer’s movements are in the lower body up to the hips, with much less movements in the upper body.
